How to read Product Codes

Futures

• 1st component: Base/Peak
• 2nd component: State (N, Q, V, S)
• 3rd component: Quarter ending (H, M, U, Z)
• 4th component: Year (7, 8, 9, 0)

Futures Strips

• 1st component: Base/Peak
• 2nd component: State (N, Q, V, S)
• 3rd component: Year ending (M, Z)
• 4th component: Year (7, 8, 9, 0)

Options

• 1st component: Base Calendar Strip /Peak Quarter 1
• 2nd component: State (N, Q, V, S)
• 3rd component: period ending (M, Z / H)
• 4th component: Year (8, 9, 0)

For example:

• PNZ8 stands for Peak period, NSW, quarter 4, 2008.
• HNZ2008P0003800 stands for Base Load strip, NSW, calendar year 2008, put option with strike price of $38.00

Quarter Codes

• H = Quarter ending in March = Q1
• M = Quarter ending in June = Q2
• U = Quarter ending in September = Q3
• Z = Quarter ending in December = Q4

Strip Codes

• M = Year ending in June = Financial Year
• Z = Year ending in December = Calendar Year
