TRADING SUMMARY FOR THE WEEK ENDING MONDAY 29/09/2008

Weekly Highlights*

  • Calendar 2009 base load prices for the Eastern Seaboard states were slightly lower than last week, unlike SA which remained unchanged at $60.79. QLD fell the most at $0.61 from $50.19 to $49.58. Then NSW decreased $0.41 from $46.21 to $45.80 and VIC lost $0.19 from $48.79 to $48.60.
  • Option trade highlights this week included the following trades:
    • QLD Calendar 2009 $49 put traded at $1.40
    • NSW Calendar 2009 $46 put traded at $1.20
    • VIC Calendar 2009 $54 call traded at $0.40
  • Overall open interest increased by 333 contracts last week, setting a new record of 49,384. Futures increased 218 contracts and Options rose by 115 contracts.
